The Slap Straps are fairly convenient, but the distance between the loops is often too far, and more than that if you weigh more than 180 or so, I think you're going to disappointed with the amount of stretch you find in the nylon webbing. Polyester straps do not stretch like nylon and are nearly as environment resilient. I'd say if you are looking for an easy way to get hanging, these are fine, but as soon as you realize there is better equipment out there for around the same money, you might find these a bit of a let down.

Makes setting up a hammock very easy, anywhere you might be. Worth the money to get the longer "pro" ones.

I don't have two trees large or close enough to each other in my backyard but did want a hammock. But I do have a patio with three big (2'x 2') colums made from brick that hold up the roof over the patio. I wrapped these straps around two of the columns and used an eagle nest hammock with it and it works great. Exactly what I wanted.

These are made of nylon. Nylon straps stretch under weight over time. So, if you sleep in the hammock, you may well wind up on the ground by morning. There are better and easier suspension alternatives. Try Shug's hammock tutorials over at YouTube for more info: [...]

After doing a little research on lightweight backpacking, I decided on the ENO Slap Strap Pro, Grand Trunk Ultralight Hammock, and Kelty Noah's Tarp 9 shelter setup. After many successful backpacking trips, hikes, and backyard siestas, I can 100% vouch for the quality of this system, and the ENO slap straps in particular. They may seem a little pricey upfront, but you are paying for a great product that is both flawless in design and ease of use.

I'm 6'4 / 220lbs and I'm sure the straps could hold someone twice my weight, although it's doubtful my hammock could (as neither are supposed to). After using these over and over, I have still not found any flaws or weaknesses in the design or materials, aside from a little stretching the first few times I used them overnight when camping. The overall design seems perfect, with just enough length and loops without being too heavy or cumbersome. The straps come with a cool stuff sack, but I just usually throw them in with my hammock since they don't take up much space (also a bonus).

Setup is a piece of cake. The great part about the straps are their simplicity and versatility. I've only ran into a single scenario where I couldn't find a way to set everything up without a few feet of additional 550 cord which worked just fine. The only caveat is sometimes it can be a little tricky to find the "sweet spot" where the positioning of the hammock is exactly where you want it. But with a little adjustment, it's always worked out fine. There is nothing more annoying than having to re-adjust standard ropes, whereas the straps allow you to pick a different loop and raise or lower the hammock without it touching the ground (very helpful in a rain storm last weekend).

These are a great purchase and much better alternative to rope-based systems hands down. They are an investment, especially considering rope comes with most hammocks, but it is money well-spent. 5 stars.
